Creating an Awesome Visual Identity for Your Brand
Most entrepreneurs understand the importance of having a good logo when creating a brand and want to begin the process of branding with the logo. This actually makes sense. Vision dominates all other senses in humans. A visual representation of a brand is more likely to be remembered by people as compared to a vocal representation. However, hurrying to create a visual identity for your brand without a basic foundation is slightly out of order. You should first work on basic brand foundation, such as brand personality, brand promise and a brand tagline. Once these tasks are completed, you can move on to the interesting task of creating a visual identity for your business.

Getting Started
The first step in designing the logo is to choose the primary colors that will dominate the logo. A color stimulates brand association and facilitates recognition for your brand. That is why it is very important that you review your brand goals and personality and select the right color. Simply decide the kind of feel that you want to evoke from your brands and the choices will narrow down making the decision easier for you.
Creating the Logo
You need not spend a fortune to get a professionally designed logo. A mere investment of $250 and above can get a quality designed logo from a professional firm. However, leaving the entire decision and responsibility on the designers is not right. You must give designers a helping hand and give them a clear description of your business and your brand personality. For instance, telling a literature stand designer about the kind of books you purchase will help him create the right kind of literature stands for you. Similarly telling the designers about your business, its goals, and differences will help them create the best-suited logo for your brand.

Typography
Typography or the font you choose for your logo is more important that the symbols in your logo. The font should be uncommon and at the same time it should be attractive enough to stay in people’s mind. Avoid using fonts that are easily available in Microsoft Word
Completing the Visual Branding
Once you are done with creating a visual identity for your business, make sure that you integrate it well with all the visible parts of branding. The logo should not look alienated when used in websites, business cards or sales brochure. Work to make all these brand elements look like one cohesive visual identity
