Many marketers turn to the old school methods to build their business. You know, the typical handing out CD’s, DVD’s, calling and harassing their friends and family and once they have gone through their warm list, they turn to cold calling people. This would end up with rejection, disappointment and regret of even thinking they could be successful in a business to begin with. Building a business does not have to be this hard. In fact, you can have people calling you to join you in business instead of you chasing them. It’s called attraction marketing.

Attraction marketing is simply where you promote YOU and not your business. See, people do not get into business because of the business (not usually). They get into business because they want to build financial freedom for themselves and they find a connection with the person who will help them do that. This person can be you.

Attraction marketing is simply presenting yourself as a leader or expert in your industry. You make it so that people want to do business with you because they feel that you can help them be successful. They have a problem and you have the solution for them. Whether they want to build a part time income to pay off some old bills or build a financially free lifestyle, you need to position yourself as the person who can absolutely help them achieve this.

One way to do this is to personally brand yourself. This can be done through blogs, websites, videos, articles, email marketing and social networking through sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

You also want to have a system in place where prospects join you in a free program that offers help with building THEIR business. Within this program you will be building a relationship with them. Also in this program you will be offering them "tools"that will help them move further in their business. These tools will have a small price attached to them, making you commissions. Eventually, once your prospects gain trust with you, they will join you in your primary business.

Forget pitching your business opportunity to prospects with fingers crossed that they will join you. Instead, step out and be willing to help them achieve success. Position yourself as an expert in your industry and get yourself spread around the Internet. The more credible and trustworthy you get, the more business you are going to do.

In today’s high tech era, computer languages are no less important than the spoken ones. One will be surprised to know that the entire concept of World Wide Web is centered on two languages namely Adobe Flash and iQuery. iQuery is a concise form of Java Script which focuses on the interaction between HTML and Java Script. Flash is a very interesting multimedia platform which can comfortably support bidirectional audio and video streaming. It is the combination of these two languages which helps to create animated and interactive websites, which not only look attractive, but also are useful to the users.

iQuery helps users to navigate through a document in a much easier way and it helps to go through any HTML document with minimum lines of code. It is never the best solution for 3D and vector based graphics. But it is so versatile in nature that people consider it to be an alternative to Adobe Flash.

The advantages of Flash are its wide variety of features, 3D usability and excellent appearance in all the important browsers, user interface built in from within, and large number of font options. It has also got many free commercial tools and can also support vector artworks to a great extent.

In the case of iQuery, it has been observed that the file size is much smaller and it contains many professional free quality programs. It also helps to attach various types of interactive webpage elements and it can be made compatible in i-phones, cell phones, PSP and PS3.

One must know which of these languages can be suitably used in which place. If you are making a slide show or drop down menus, tapped panels, pop ups and expandable elements, you must use iQuery. But when you are working with video or audio player or making complex animations, Adobe Flash is the best option available.

This past decade with the Internet dominating just about everything these days has business owners forgetting that there are other avenues of advertising besides online. In fact, advertising strictly online is about as unhealthy to your business as not advertising at all. One effective form of offline advertising when done right is newspaper advertising. Below are some tips to place that perfect ad.

* Expand your horizons. Get your ad out there in regional and larger newspapers. It might be a bit more expensive, but you will reach a larger audience and much more response than advertising strictly local.

* Talk with the advertising representatives on which day will bring in the most viewers. Typically, this is a Sunday for most, but each paper is different. Mondays are also good especially for the male crowd because they can find their sports recaps and other features on this day. Saturday advertising is good for the budget.

* Do not be stingy on your budget when it comes to picking a good spot. If you cannot afford a full or half size page ad, then you are going to have to make due with a simple classified. This is not to say that classifieds are not powerful. However, to get the most out of your classified ad, you need to pick the right spot. This spot should be in the part of the paper that is relevant to your ad but gets the most attention. If there is no way to do this, you could pay a little extra for a color, bolded or featured ad to draw attention to it.

Newspaper advertising is still a very effective form of marketing. Think about something for a moment. Most elderly people tend to prefer the hard copy newspaper over the Internet and they typically come with money. You would be missing out on this very important crowd if you didn’t utilize the power of newspaper advertising. This is not to say that you should not implement other avenues of promotion, but it should definitely be a part of your whole marketing plan.

I have just changed some of the images on the email marketing software page, what do you all think about it? And before you say anything Dean, yes we all know that you could have done it better…

Postcard marketing can be a very effective way to get the word out on your business. It is important, however, that you use postcards the right way or else you will be wasting your time and efforts.

First, let us explore some of the many benefits of using postcards to promote your business. Unlike other direct mail, a postcard does not have to be opened. This gives you the advantage of having your message right there in front of your readers. If you design your postcard so that it catch’s the attention of your readers, you have good chance of converting them into a paying customer.

Another benefit is that a postcard is short. People generally have short attention spans. It is within the first couple sentences that will make or break your sale. With a postcard, it is easy on the eyes and your whole message can be conveyed easily without the reader having to scan through paragraphs of text or other filler material.

Postcards are an inexpensive form of advertising. Direct mail pieces tend to cost twice as much as postcards. Another benefit is a postcard can be easily tacked up on a bulletin board or on a refrigerator magnet to come back to later. If your direct mail piece doesn’t peak your reader’s attention, it is usually thrown in the trash.

Now that you are aware of some of the benefits to postcard marketing, learning some key points to using them correctly is important. First, you should make your postcards as straightforward as possible. Typically, this is a good headline, an image or two, some quick details and a call to action.

Next, in order to convert more customers with your postcards and track your progress, you might want to consider including some kind of incentive such as a limited time only coupon or other special offer and have your customers call a specific number to claim them. This not only builds your customer base, but you will know if a customer was gained through your postcard marketing.

These are just a few benefits to marketing your business with postcards. The good thing with this form of advertising is you can test it out for a few months and not put too much of a hole in your advertising budget.

Before I run away I was doing a bit research for my illustrations program and got off the phone with this great company that does Bespoke Packaging, they have a really great portfolio, if any of you are interested in marketing images you should really check them out.

When you run a business you may be considering branding your business in an effort to increase awareness among potential and current customers. When you brand your business what you are really doing is engaging in certain functions that will make it a success. Branding will require some effort and commitment, with focus being on public awareness, customer loyalty and trust, and attracting new customers.

When branding your business you will need to take great care that you do it right. Be sure that you know who your customers and potential customers are so that you will know how to attract them to do business with you. Here are four tips to branding your business.

Advertise regularly. This helps to keep your business at the forefront of the minds of customers and would be customers. When you advertise be sure to highlight the major benefits of your product or service.

Good customer service. Employ persons who are able to sell your brand in an effective manner. Ensure that they know the part they play in the development of your brand. Treat every customer with the utmost respect and kindness and always be of help to them. Remember one customer lost could mean ten more potential customers are lost, since people tend to not recommend to others businesses that they do not like or have had a bad experience with.

Use of technology. Using current technology in your business helps to save your resources, time, and money. If your business does not have one, you should develop a business website and market your products to the world online.

Public image. Ensure that statements and claims made by your business and its employees are true. Stay away from making promises your business can not keep nor support. Your customers must always leave your business with a good and satisfied feeling.

Some exciting news for you all before I go, I was talking to my cousin the other night and he has just got a great new gig at an human resource software company. Well done Ron!!

Facebook has become one of the most popular places to meet and build relationships with people. Many business owners are now using the power of Facebook to connect with people and build their business. However, there are some things you should consider before approaching this marketing method.

First, you have to understand the importance of building relationships when using Facebook. Your main goal is to make friends and build rapport, not sell your business. Get this wrong and you are gone! People hate to be spammed and going around emailing your business information to every Facebook user will get you banned. Instead, you want to build your friend base slowly, interacting with them, commenting on their stuff, etc. Show that you are interested in them, not in having them sign up in your business or buy products from you.

Do not try and gather up hundreds of friends in a short period of time. Instead, you want to connect with smaller groups of people and build your relationships with them first before you find new ones. This builds trust and shows you are real.

Speaking of being real, be honest and genuine with your friends. People connect with people who are truthful and not misleading. Just be yourself and you will naturally attract others to you.

Facebook marketing is a little bit different than other social network marketing. Normally, on a social network site, you would set up your profile with information about you and your business. Facebook has a more personal touch. Keep your profile about you and your everyday life. Do not sell your business on your profile. Also, do not add your business link in the website field of your profile. Instead, add a blog that is centered around your business. Once people begin to trust you, they will eventually click through to your blog and learn about your business.

Basically, your goal with Facebook marketing is to be yourself and connect with people on a more personal level. Only then can you begin to talk about your business.
And lastly, in my opinion all of those who are into this thought of a greener lifestyle really need to check this out. This Enigin Scam blog has some really inventive ideas for businesses who are concerned about thier environmental impact, I am really liking them right now.

There are so many creative ways to grow your business. Below you will find some examples of highly effective ways to grow your team.

* Write Articles - Article writing is becoming more popular these days. That is because it generates a passive flow of traffic to your business website that continues on for a long time. This allows you to sign up new team members and customers from the writing you have done in the past. Basically, you write 250 to 500 word articles relevant to your business and link your website URL in the resource box. Then, simply submit your articles to popular article directories.

* Social Network Sites - These sites are great for relationship building. It is important to gain people's trust when doing business. Creating a profile and interacting with others on social networking sites is a great way to build this trust. Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are a few of the most popular, but there are many out there to choose from.

* Email Marketing - This is another great way to grow your business passively. Although you can expect some instant results through email marketing, it is usually a long term marketing method. When marketing to others through email, it is important that they have actually opted into your list. Also, make sure that you offer them helpful and valuable information and not just a sales pitch or they will unsubscribe from your list.

* Offer something for free - People like free. Whether you offer a free product, free training, free coaching or free information, this is a proven way to add more people to your business. This also builds trust and credibility and people are more likely to be attracted to your business if you give away something.

These are just a few marketing methods that will help you to grow your business. Use your creativity when marketing. The best word of advice, however, would be to stay focused and stay consistent.

I had to send a email out today and I got a bit of perverse pleasure from writting it, basically we are in the situation where we are trying to convince a possible client to leave a big boy and become our client. Which enabel me in a very polit way to rip apart another SEO link building activity. Which mean I have the fantasic chance to write this lovely email:

I have search on yahoo for links to ###### that has been found in the last 3 months. It has returned 61 good results. Which I have then gone through manually, these are my findings.

Out of the 61 links 47 of them will not be counted in google for these reason (20 not Cached, 2 no live links, 3 the link had been removed, 8 were no followed, 2 javascript redirects, 5 errored and 5 were rejected as duplicates)

Out of the 15 links that did count 13 of them were rated as 0 in the google pagerank.

The two that had page rank were:

######

Which was a really nice PR 4 links page that had multiple links back to the site with good anchor text.

and

######
This was PR 2 blog roll link, this was pretty good to, should stand the test of time.

I did the same report on google to see what pages it had picked up in the last month and it returned 4 pages, not all linking, but google only reports 12 links in total (but as we all know google lies).

Press release:
I had a quick look at a press release related to the website and found that it had 9 pages in the google index, probable discredited by the duplicate filter.

######

I have seen little follow up news stories related to this, press releases are only really worth something if website pick them up and run stories about them. I saw one press type story when looking at the links:

######

This is the only useful news I could find connect to the site. I might have found more if I had increased the time period I was looking at.

Type of links built
Another thing that is worth noting is the manner in which the links have been built apart from the two mentioned above. 70% of the links built were from directories, mainly free low quality ones, 10% were from press release which got caught in the duplicate filter.

I hope this help anything else you need please give me a shout.

It's nice to look at someone else handy work. I really do believe we can do a so much better job. We just have better resources and we know what we are doign more that sounds silly but the big boys charge so much more than us and they are lazy by the look of it all they are doing is submitting to hundreds of free or cheap directories.

Anyway just a couple of shout outs to friend Calf implant uk and snack and drink vending machines all very good people. Thanks for the support.
